MedRecap

Terms of Service

Effective 27 July 2026 · Last updated 28 July 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using MedRecap (“MedRecap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What MedRecap is

MedRecap is a personal health record app that records medical appointments, transcribes the audio, and generates plain-language summaries to help you remember and act on what was discussed with your healthcare provider. It also lets you track medications, appointments, and a personal health record you maintain yourself.

MedRecap is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI-generated transcripts and summaries may contain errors or omissions. Always rely on your official medical records and the guidance of your healthcare provider for clinical decisions.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use MedRecap. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Your account

5. Subscriptions (MedRecap Plus)

MedRecap offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription (“MedRecap Plus”) with expanded features (unlimited summary history, unlimited Lumi questions, translation, longer recordings, and other features described in the app).

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to record any conversation you use MedRecap to capture.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the recordings, transcripts, and health information you create in MedRecap. By using the app, you grant us the limited right to process that content (via our service providers — see the Privacy Policy) solely to provide the service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models or for any purpose beyond operating MedRecap for you.

8. Sharing feature

MedRecap lets you generate a read-only link to share a specific visit summary. Anyone with that link can view the shared visit without an account. You are responsible for who you share links with; you can revoke a share link at any time from within the app.

9. Medical disclaimer

MedRecap is not a medical device, is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and does not create a doctor-patient relationship. AI-based transcription and summarization can be inaccurate or incomplete. Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you read in a MedRecap summary. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

MedRecap is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MedRecap and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on any AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using MedRecap and delete your account at any time by contacting support@medrecap.app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, Section 11 and any provision that by its nature should survive continues to apply.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of MedRecap after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
